THE PURPOSE OF MY PRACTICE:

My promise is to support your commitment to your optimal health and to treat you with respect and compassion to the very best of my ability.

WHO I AM:

I am passionate about supporting people who are committed to achieving and maintaining mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health.

I have been committed to the healing profession my whole life. I practiced as a registered nurse for many years after completing my studies at the University of Michigan and later obtaining a masters degree in nursing.

Later, I decided to study the healing art of Eastern medicine. In l983, I attended acupuncture colleges in Maryland and England and began my acupuncture practice full time.

Since then, I’ve maintained my licensure as a nurse while deepening my knowledge and practice of acupuncture and Eastern philosophy. I bring my understanding of Western medicine to bear on the acupuncture treatment process with each person.

I am an adventurer at heart and love to explore new territory. Through tackling challenges such as taking a sabbatical in France and sailing with Outward Bound off the coast of Maine, I’ve developed a “can do” attitude about life and the potential I see in other people. In 2000, after fifteen years as Director of the Acupuncture Centre of Annapolis, I moved to Los Angeles to continue my practice.

MY APPROACH:

I am a Traditional Five Element acupuncturist. This type of acupuncture puts particular emphasis on the health of the body, mind and spirit. Treatment planning is based on the ancient classics of Chinese literature and has been adapted and transformed for use for Western patients. My approach is to diagnose and treat the fundamental imbalance in your constitution that has become a cause for symptoms or illness. These unique treatments restore and support your optimal balance.

My goal is to help you attain your best health, to help you maintain your health and to prevent disease. Your appointments are forty-five minutes to one hour for each treatment and I work only with you during that time. Together, we will review your current health issues and your progress toward your overall goals for acupuncture, making changes in your treatment plan as needed and desired.
